About Me
I am a licensed psychologist with a specialization in social and clinical psychology (Aristotle University of Thessaloniki) and postgraduate studies in counseling psychology and counseling in special education, education, and health (University of Thessaly).
I trained in systemic therapy and family therapy at the Institute of Systemic Approach and Family Therapy (E. Karkazi). Earlier, I completed a one-year training program in systemic thinking and therapy with A. Emmanouilidou.
I continue my education by attending seminars and conferences in psychology and psychotherapy, with an emphasis on systemic practice, aiming to stay up to date with current developments and modern therapeutic approaches.
My most recent training was in the principles of Non-Violent Resistance (NVR Greece).
I was born and brought up in a small village near Thessaloniki; my professional and personal journey has taken me to various parts of the country and, since 2016, to Germany and, more recently, to England.
I have worked in school settings in Greece, offering counseling to teachers, parents, and children with educational and psychosocial difficulties, as well as providing diagnostic services. In Germany, I worked in psychosocial centers for refugees, supporting individuals and families with histories of multiple traumatic experiences—including gender-based violence and/or torture—and various diagnoses.
I will always be grateful to the people who entrusted me with their life stories and for the vicarious resilience they gifted me in all the professional contexts I have been part of.
Having lived abroad now for the past 10 years, I understand what it may mean to be away from home in terms of identity, belonging and important relationships.
From the position of a white, able-bodied, cisgender, heterosexual woman, I strive to remain aware of the privileges I hold and of the ways different forms of discrimination may also be present within the therapeutic interaction. I aim to stand as an ally—therapeutically and politically—to individuals experiencing racism, sexism, and discrimination related to mobility, age, or physical characteristics.
